Birdie Leroy Baker

Birdie “Leroy” Baker, born on March 20, 1932 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma,  he passed away on May 24, 2017 at the age of 85, he peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family.

During the greater portion of his life, he enjoyed listening and playing country music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends fishing and telling stories. He will be remembered for his talent, stories of his past, and his cheeky smile.

Leroy is survived by his wife Jo Ann Baker, sharing 54 years of his life with her. Children James Baker, Carol Baker,  Rick Baker (Penny),  Bobby Baker,  Wendi Anderson,  Katie Ramirez, Dayle Baker (Rebecca),  Keith Baker (Jeanette), and Daymean Baker (Christina) as well as step-daughters Diane Bunyard (Mike) and Shirley Ingalls(Joe) as well as 58 grandchildren,  24 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren. Birdie also leaves behind his brothers Jimmy Baker (Lavonne) and Carl Baker (Anne) and his sister Jean Turner along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Birdie Ross and mother Merittie Lelon Baker, sister Ruby Moody, and his son Rodney Dawayne Baker.

Funeral Services will be held at Fierro Family Funeral Home at 1702 Golden Gate Avenue in Dos Palos at 9:00 AM on Monday, June 5th, Birdie will be laid to rest at the Dos Palos District Cemetery following the funeral services.
