Master Homer W. Harris Jr. MD lost his long battle with cancer when the Angels took him home on November 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.  He fought with faith, courage and gratitude for the life he had and the accomplishments the Lord gave him.

Dr. Harris was born April 26, 1947 in San Mateo, CA to Homer and Bea Harris.  At the age of six the family moved to Santa Rosa where he attended elementary school and graduated from Santa Rosa High School.  He attended Santa Rosa Junior College and moved on to Cal State University in Sacramento for his pre-med and went on to graduate from Meharry Medical School of Medicine in Nashville, TN with his Physician and Surgeon Diploma in 1981.  He accomplished his Board Certification in 1989.

After completing his residency at Barberton Citizen Hospital in Ohio, IL and Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago, IL, all the while being the contract physician for Joliet Correctional Prison and Dwight Women’s Prison in Illinois.  He then moved back to California.

Dr. Harris began working for Interim Western Physicians Locum Tenens, in the Bay Area.  At which time he was assigned to Golden Valley Health Center in the Central Valley. He opened his practice in Dos Palos on January 10, 2005.  At this time he also ack Belt and persevered to Fourth Degree Master.  His love and caring for his Taekwondo family in San Jose was very special and he was always so proud of their accomplishments.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Mary Clements-Harris of Turlock, CA, his mother Bea Harris of Santa Rosa, CA and his sister Wanda Harris of Santa Rosa, CA.  and he leaves behind many aunts, uncles and many cousins.  He leaves his office staff, which he and Mary always referred to as their angels, Karina, Marisol, Lorena and Judy and their furry children Buckie, Monkey, Bootsie, and Gaby.

Dr. Harris will be missed by many and will be forever in our hearts.  If he could have a few last words, he would say “Be kind to all that live, two legged or four, they all have souls”.
