Jose V Fraga

Jose Vitorino Fraga passed away on Saturday September 7, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California. He was 79 years old.

Jose was born April 17, 1940 in Manadas, Sāo Jorge, Azores Portugal to Joaquin & Serafina Azevedo, and was the youngest of 4 siblings: Manuel Vitorino Azevedo, Ramiro Azevedo, and Maria Das Neves Azevedo Sousa. 

On November 25, 1967 Jose married Maria Lourdes Cabral in Manadas, Sāo Jorge, Azores. In 1974 they welcomed their son, Emanuel Cabral Fraga, into the world. Two years later, in 1976, their family immigrated to Dos Palos, California. It was at this time that Jose began working for The O’Banion Ranch; he dedicated 39 years and created lifelong friendships along the way. Jose was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Dos Palos.His favorite past times were visiting with family and friends, attending Portuguese celebrations, and also attending Portuguese “bailes regionais” folk dances. What he most loved was passing his time playing his guitar and singing to the Portuguese folk music. 

Jose is preceded in death by his parents: Joaquin & Serafina Azevedo, and his three siblings: Manuel Vitorino Azevedo, Ramiro Azevedo, and Maria Das Neves Azevedo Sousa.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 51 ½ years, Maria Lourdes Cabral Fraga, and his son Emanuel Cabral Fraga.
