Lewis W Maiorino

Lewis William Maiorino was born September 29, 1934 at home in Dos Palos, California and peacefully passed away on August 21, 2018 surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Lewis was a lifelong resident of Dos Palos and was cherished by his family and admired by his friends. He attended local schools and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and numerous community organizations. After graduating from Dos Palos High School, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After returning home he married the love of his life Dawn DuBois and pursued a very successful career in farming that spanned over 63 years and continues today.

His passion for farming stood out in the community and he strived  to be the best at it. He loved raising cattle and some of the happiest times in his life were spent showing and competing at local fairs and jackpots with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents James V. and Bessie Maiorino. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years Dawn Maiorino, sons Mike Maiorino and Brad Maiorino, daughter Jill Scoto and son in law Augie, brother Jim Maiorino of Firebaugh,Ca, sisters Carmella Smith of Los Banos,Ca, and Lynda Jones of Waterford,Ca. Five grandchildren Ryan Burnthorne and wife Shely, Michael Maiorino, Logan Maiorino, Madison Maiorino all of Dos Palos, Ca and Gustin Scoto of Atwater, Ca, great grandchildren Corynn and Hunter Burnthorne.

Services for Lewis Maiorino will be held on August 31, 2018 beginning with Rosary starting at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Dos Palos. Burial will be at Dos Palos District Cemetery at noon.

Remembrances may be sent to Hinds Hospice or Mercy Medical Center Foundation.
