Mary Lou Herrera

Mary Lou (Alves) Herrera was born on September 3rd, 1936 to John and Julia Alves in Dos Palos, California. She entered heaven’s gates on September 8th, 2017 at the age of 81. Dos Palos is where home has always been. Attending High School, enjoying horseback riding and meeting her future husband Jess Herrera. Mary was a bookkeeper for 50 years in Dos Palos. The thing she loved most was her garden.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents John and Julia Alves, one brother John Alves Jr., and her granddaughter Julia Cole. She is survived by her husband Jess Herrera; son Jess (Kerry) Herrera Jr.; daughters Cynthia (Jerry) Cole and Patricia (Roy) Raper; four grandchildren: Crystal and Chance Cole; Stephanie (Adam) Aguilar and Allison Raper; two great grandchildren:  Thomas and Melanie; four sisters: Rosalie Utti from Santa Maria, Calif.; Shirley McCloskey from San Diego, Calif.; Jeannette Martin from Fresno, Calif.; Kathy Boyd from Madera Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the services for Mary Lou that will be held on September 23rd, 2017 at Fierro Family Funeral Home at 11:00 AM and reception will follow immediately after at the services.
