Billie Faye Walker-Jordan, born April 13, 1933, in Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 25, 2024, in Dos Palos, California, at the age of 91. Billie was the 7th of 9 children born to Sylvester and Emma Clayton-Walker. A proud graduate of the McFarland High School class of 1951, Billie married the love of her life, Carl Jordan, shortly after graduation. Carl often shared the story of meeting Billie at a popular teen hangout in McFarland when she was Department, spending many summers fishing and enjoying the just 15 years old. Carl, captivated by her, handed her a nickel and playfully told her to use it to call him when she turned 18. Billie kept that coin, and in 1953, after Carl was discharged from the Army, they eloped to Las Vegas and began their life together. Billie’s career included working in retail and supporting her husband in various agricultural ventures. She was a champion bowler, an avid poker player, and an all-around social person, known for her warmth, humor, and lively spirit. In her later years, Billie and Carl worked as camp hosts for the U.S. Forestry beauty of nature. Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Jordan, Sr., her parents, her grandson Frankie Samuel Buie, and four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Walker (Carol), her son Carl Jordan, Jr. (Rose) and daughter Sandra Buie (Sam), granddaughters Carla Batten, Shelly Von Allman (Jason), Mindi Jones (Steve), Katie Ayala (Chris), and grandsons David Buie and DJ Jordan (Misty). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love and presence in their lives. Billie’s legacy of family, love, and joy will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
