Carmen Sousa

Carmen was born in Azores, Portugal September 12, 1945, to Joe and Maria (Freitas) Rita. She came to the US as a child. She attended school in Los Banos, CA, and graduated from Los Banos High School. She met and married John Sousa and had three children. They made Dos Palos their home and she became a member of Sacred Heart Church where she was a member of YLI and UPPEC. Carmen worked for several local families as a personal assistant and a home caregiver. Her husband John passed away in 2005.

She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband John Sousa, Sister Jeanie Pacini, and her daughter Melissa Sousa Medeiros. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Gary Sousa and his wife Wendy of Dos Palos, CA, daughter Lisa Sousa and her companion Mike Nazabal of Dos Palos, CA, and her son-in-law Monte of Dos Palos, CA. Grandchildren Ethan and Evan Sousa, Samara Renee and Brinley Marie Medeiros all of Dos Palos, CA. Her siblings Marie (Melvin) Alamo of Gustine, CA, Joe (Kathy) Rita of Chowchilla, CA.
