Doris May Johnson passed away on April 25th, 2021, she was 92 years old. Doris was born on September 15th, 1928 to Willie and Clara Belle Ricks. Doris was a lifelong member of the Odd Fellows-Rebekahs Lodge and was a 4-H Leader. She loved sewing and crocheting, reading and going on walks with her dog, Rowdy. Doris held many jobs throughout her lifetime and was never one to shy away from hard work. But, her most important job was that of a wife, mother and grandmother. She raised four children on the family ranch in Dos Palos while also helping her husband, Bert, with the daily duties on the farm. She moved to Tuolumne county in 1978 and made a new life and home for her and husband. She loved to dance and was a member of several square dancing clubs, including the Twain Harte Twirlers Square Dancing club for many years. Doris loved to tell stories and pass down the histories of the family to the next generation. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband Bert, her mother Clara Belle Ricks, her father Willie Ricks, her daughter Joylana Johnson-Cardenas and her grandson James Ankele. She leaves behind her sons Jim Johnson (wife Sharon) of Dayton, NV and Byron Johnson (wife Sharon) of Sonora, CA and her daughter Tamy Ankele (husband John) of Soulsbyville, CA, along with her grandchildren Michelle, Melanie, Nicole, Kenneth, Justin, Russell, Michael, and Tyler, and nine great-grandchildren.
