Douglas Allen Accardo was born in Chowchilla, California on September 30, 1936 and passed away at his home in Dos Palos, California on January 17, 2026 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his parents , Domonic and Margaret Accardo, and siblings Phyllis Custer and Larry Accardo. Doug is survived by his wife June and their three children: daughter Mitzi and her husband Jeff, son Mike and his wife Della and son Jason and his wife Sherry. They have 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Doug graduated from Los Banos High School in 1955. Doug and June knew each other throughout their childhoods and became high school sweethearts. They got married on June 22, 1956 at Fort Ord, just one week before Doug left for Germany. This June, they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage. He served in the army from 1956 through 1958, stationed in Fort Ord, California and Germany, chauffeuring his major around his base.
He worked in the automotive industry for over 40 year, retiring from his auto body shop, Dominic's Body Shop in 2001. He spent his spare time coaching Little League baseball, riding dirt bikes in the foothills and hunting and fishing with Mike and Jason, his dad, brother and friend. He was quite the handyman fixing and transforming every project presented to him. Doug and June took many trips to Reno with his parents and they enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends and their beloved dog, Stretch and many others.
His mischievous smile and good-natured teasing will be missed by us all.
