Martin Lee Elrod

Martin (Marty) Lee Elrod 55 passed  away Wednesday December 21, 2022  in Dos Palos, Ca.., he was born on January 11, 1967 in Sanger, Ca. to Billy & Beth Elrod. 

Marty loved his family with all that he had including his race family. He was always there for anyone that needed him. He was kind, honest, loyal,hard working and just a great person with a huge heart. Marty was loved by everyone who knew him. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need even if he didn’t know them or particularly care for them.

 Marty was alway there to support his Son and nieces at all their sporting events, he loved to watch them compete. He was a very proud father and he always expressed how very proud he was of his children and their accomplishments.

Marty’s passion was drag racing, he loved to race. He started racing at a very young age,  he started out racing BMX bicycles then it was mortor cycles and at 16 he had worked all summer to buy his first hot rod a  69 Chevelle. His dad use to tell him “You have a rich man’s hobby with a poor man’s pocket book.” Marty knew he had to work hard to do what he loved and he did he would work two jobs,sometimes 16-17 hours a day 6-7 days a week and all his money would go into his race cars. Marty knew if he wanted something he had to work for it and he never expected something for nothing. 

Marty is preceded in-death by his parents Billy and Beth Elrod. 

He is survived by his Daughter Samantha Moss of Fresno, his son Dustin Elrod of Dos Palos, two brothers Billy Elrod of Dos Palos, Larry Elrod of Coasegold, three sisters Reesa Lerma of Dos Palos, Deeanna Montoya of Merced, and Karen West of Ripon. Two grandchildren Laine and Miley Moss of Fresno,and Three nieces Talyn, Baylee and Karlee Lerma of Dos Palos.
