Rodney (Joey) Joseph Gonzales

Joey passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 15, 2021, in Merced, CA at the age of 40. Joey was born in Dos Palos, CA on March 11, 1981, to Rodney Gonzales and Kris Chinnock. He was raised and grew up in Dos Palos. Joey went to school and graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1999. He moved to Merced in 2000 as he pursued his ASE certification in mechanics. Not long after, Joey started his family with his firstborn Emma, and not long after his son Nathan came along. Joey enjoyed being a dad and being home with his kids. Growing up Joey enjoyed playing baseball, skating, and most of all making music with his brother Danny. Always enjoyed going on camping trips to fish the creeks as a kid. As a teenager, Joey's passion for music grew as he loved his heavy metal and recording/making his beats.

Joey is survived by his mom Kris Chinnock, dad Rodney Gonzales, his brother's Danny Gonzales, Jr. Gonzales, and stepbrother Daniel Ramerize, daughter Emma Gonzales, and son Nathan Gonzales. Including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
